Genesis

A New Beginning: Update "Genesis" is Now Live!

Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled to push a new update live today for RETIME 2.0: Fabric of Reality. I'm calling this one "Genesis," because it focuses heavily on something I felt was missing: a true beginning. Previously, the game would drop you right into the multiverse, which was exciting but lacked context. I wanted to give you a story, a purpose, and a proper introduction to your role as a time-traveler.

With this update, your journey now starts with a completely new, hand-crafted prologue. But that's not all—this patch also includes a host of stability fixes I've been working on.

Update "Genesis" - Patch Notes:

  • New Narrative Prologue: All new players will now experience a pre-scripted backstory. This multi-step narrative introduces the world, the stakes, and the voice that sets you on your path. It's a proper tutorial that bridges the gap between starting the game and selecting your first timeline.
  • AI Stability Enhancements: I've refined the prompts sent to the AI to significantly reduce the chances of "hallucinations" or nonsensical responses. The AI should now provide more consistent and context-aware scenarios, making for a smoother adventure.
  • Smarter Onboarding: The main menu is now more intelligent. It will display a "NEW MISSION" button for first-time players. Once you've completed the prologue, the game remembers, and you'll see "SELECT TIMELINE" on future playthroughs.
  • Atmospheric Polish: I've added new sound effects, including a satisfying sound for completing the prologue and new page transition sounds. The background music has also been updated to a new, more ambient track to better set the mood.
  • Control & UI Fixes: I've made some under-the-hood tweaks to the buttons to make them friendlier for touch devices and fixed several minor UI bugs to create a cleaner experience.

My goal with "Genesis" was two-fold: transform the first moments of the game into a memorable, story-driven experience, and at the same time, make the core gameplay loop more reliable and enjoyable. I believe the new prologue provides a much stronger foundation for the adventures to come, and the AI fixes should make those adventures far more coherent.

Thank you for your continued support. I hope you enjoy this new beginning, and I can't wait to hear what you think!
